Alexa Integration
Learn how to use Alexa voice commands with Listee.
Important Note About Voice Commands
While the application is called "Listee", the Alexa skill uses "my list" for better voice recognition. Always use "my list" when speaking to Alexa:
- ✅ "Alexa, open my list"
- ✅ "Alexa, add milk to my list"
- ❌ "Alexa, open Listee"
- ❌ "Alexa, add milk to Listee"
Setting Up Alexa Integration
Connecting Your Account
- Go to Listee Settings:
- Click the user icon in the top right corner
- Select "Settings"
- Find "Alexa Integration" section
- Click "Link with Alexa"
- Complete Amazon login:
- Sign in to your Amazon account
- Review permissions
- Click "Allow" to grant access
- Return to Listee to confirm successful connection
Selecting Categories
- In the Alexa Integration section, find "Alexa Categories"
- Choose which categories to enable:
- Free plan: Select one category
- Plus plan: Select multiple categories
- Click "Save changes" to confirm your selection
Using Voice Commands
Quick Task Addition
To quickly add a single task:
- Say: "Alexa, add [task name] to my list"
- Example: "Alexa, add buy milk to my list"
- The task will be added and Alexa will end the session
Interactive Mode
For adding multiple tasks:
- Start by saying: "Alexa, open my list"
- After Alexa responds, say: "add [task name]"
- Continue adding more tasks as needed
- Say "stop" or "exit" when finished
Category Selection
- If you have one category enabled:
- Tasks are automatically added to that category
- If you have multiple categories enabled (Plus plan):
- Alexa will ask which category to use
- Respond with the number of your chosen category

For Better Recognition
- Speak clearly and naturally
- Use simple, direct task names
- Wait for Alexa to acknowledge each command
